Three local Lewes businesses Swell Joe Coffee, Surf Bagel, and Surf Captain have joined forces with the Surfrider Delaware Chapter to lead a beach cleanup at Herring Point in the Cape Henlopen State Park this Saturday November 7th, 2020 at 10:00am. Karen Johnson of Swell Joe Coffee, said "All of our businesses are inspired by our awesome beach community and we want to make sure we are a positive influence and giving back to our community. An easy way to do that is to join forces with the Surfrider Delaware Chapter to help keep our beaches clean and beautiful".
Micah Sklut of Surf Captain, which is a new nation wide surf forecasting app, says "The Delaware beaches are so nice, but it's amazing when you really look, on how much plastic and trash you will find scattered around. Its an easy win to take a couple hours out on a nice Saturday to walk the beach and pick up some trash to help maintain are amazing beaches".
The bagel masters of Surf Bagel will join the cause as well and it will be a nice collaboration of these local surf inspired business coming together for a positive cause. In this Covid era, we will take all social distancing precautions, and will limit participation to only 25 people.
