Four Dates for Action!

First, thanks to those of you who commented on the Army Corps construction permit for the ocean outfall pipe. That permit is not yet granted but at the same time, a public notice and hearing process is happening for the other six permits this pipe will need. Please make a note of these 4 dates below and attend to help us stop the proposed ocean outfall pipe in Rehoboth Beach! There is a date to get more info, a date to learn more and ask questions, a full-on public hearing where you get your five minutes to speak, and a final date to submit your written comments to DNREC about these six permits. On Oct 15th - the Rehoboth’s permit applications and supporting documents, and a fact sheet and a draft NPDES permit all will be available on DNREC’s website at http://www.dnrec.delaware.gov/Admin/Pages/Rehoboth-Wastewater-Projects-Info.aspx

On Oct 19th there will be an Open House of public information about these projects. An overview of the various projects will be provided by the City of Rehoboth Beach’s consultants on the projects, while DNREC staff will be on hand to offer information about the Department’s permitting and approval processes. The public will be allowed to ask question about the project and permits.
