Rehoboth to ask voters for $71 million

DOVER — Rehoboth Beach officials will ask voters to approve borrowing $71 million to pay for the proposed ocean outfall and City Hall projects. While a referendum is expected to take place in June, opponents of the outfall say it is not a done deal yet.

DNREC to hold workshops Oct. 31, Nov. 1 on updates to regulations governing beach protection.

“DNREC Shoreline and Waterway Management is evaluating potential updates to the regulations governing beach protection and the use of beaches that will increase the effectiveness of the Coastal Construction Program and improve its protection of the beach and dune system.”

These discussions are VERY important to Surfrider!.

Sea Witch Parade

Saturday, October 25th – 9:30am’ish

seawitchSHJoin us this coming Saturday for some FUN!  What you’ll need-

  • Wetsuit
  • Cape of some sort
  • Good throwing arm for candy
  • Comfortable walking shoes

We are going to theme ourselves as “Superheroes of Surf – Protecting our Coasts!”  We wanted to keep the costume basic so all could participate.  Who doesn’t have a bedsheet lying around the house?


We will be decorating our Chair’s car with all kinds of stuff.  We’ll supply all the candy and décor for the car.  We have volunteered our Chair to wash his car afterwards.
Bring kids – Bring pets – Bring unicorns

Sea Witch Parade – October 25th – WE WILL HAVE A FLOAT THIS YEAR!
We will need folks willing to wear some wetsuits and carry boards with the float.  We have some other ideas brewing!!  We need as many volunteers to make a presence as possible.
