After Hurricane Sandy, the Chapter got involved in the plans to pump sand from the Indian River Inlet on to the north side beach. This was to ensure that the already impaired waves on the north side were not further degraded. The Chapter attended meetings and supported the idea of a finer grain size of sand being used for the fill. We also commented on the Army Corps plan and we monitored the process.
The Chapter had developed a great resource that explains what has been lost and what is at stake regarding Delaware’s surfing resources. Please read the The State of Surfing in Delaware.
