Beach restoration work to reverse damage from Superstorm Sandy is moving to Rehoboth Beach this week.

WXDE-FM radio reports that about one block will be built up each day from Virginia Avenue south.

Volunteers needed! DNREC is sponsoring a dune grass planting…

Volunteers needed!  DNREC is sponsoring a dune grass planting to assist our battered beaches throughout the state. 3/23/13 at 9AM.  The Delaware Chapter wants volunteers to help at the Indian River Inlet, North Side.  Specifically, we will be planting in Savages Ditch, about 1/2 mile north of Indian River Inlet.

Public Comments on Rehoboth Outfall EIS

A huge thank you to all 915 of you who used our Action Alert system and emailed your comments on the Environmental Impact Statement, EIS,  into the DNREC in opposition of the proposed Rehoboth Beach Ocean Outfall Pipe.  Thanks as well to the Delaware Nature Society, the National Aquarium in Baltimore, and the Assateauge Coastkeeper who signed on to the official comments the Chapter submitted.  The Chapter’s comments can be seen here.

Delaware Sierra Club submitted excellent comments of their own which can be seen here.
