Cape Shower Project Underway

Thanks to the combined efforts of local families, state officials, and the Surfrider Foundation Delaware Chapter a new shower area is being installed at Herring Point in Cape Henlopen State Park. Construction started just before the Memorial Day weekend and is expected to be finished within two weeks, weather permitting. Funds for the project were donated to the chapter from two local groups that were looking for a way to honor young members of their families that passed too soon. The Davey Day Foundation in honor of Davey Alison and the Grey Baker family held several fund raising events and donated these funds to the chapter in order to construct the shower facility. State Senator Ernie Lopez and State Representative Pete Schwartzkopf contributed funds from their CTF budgets to ensure the project would start in time for the summer.
