Beach cleanups continue with help from Delaware businesses

While solo beach cleanups continue at a "socially distanced" individual level across Delaware beaches, our Surfrider volunteers are working hard behind the scenes to ensure that we will be prepared for group cleanups when group activities are safe again.

Cleanup spotlight: Crooked Hammock Brewery

Thank you to Crooked Hammock for donating some of their barley bags for Surfrider to reuse as beach cleanup bags! We always appreciate when local communities get involved in preserving our beautiful Delaware ecosystems. One of our volunteers, Hannah Royston of Milton DE, has started sourcing donations for the Delaware Chapter's future group beach cleanups. This donation drive is focused on reusable alternatives to typically disposable cleanup items like trash bags and latex gloves. Donations include reusable gloves, buckets, burlap bags, and trash pickers. You can check out some more of her work on our Instagram page.

If you are interested in Hannah's donation drive, send us an email at volunteercoordinator@delaware.surfrider.org! In the meantime, please help us out by continuing to do solo beach cleanups using the data card available to download at the bottom of our cleanups page, and send your cleanup data to cleanups@delaware.surfrider.org.
